COVID and Other Illness Policies
If your student has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, they should stay home until fever-free (unmedicated) for 24 hours. Also, if they have vomited or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours, they should remain at home.
In adherence to the current COVID-19 guidelines, students are encouraged to take a COVID-19 if they exhibit symptoms of the virus. If a student tests positive or experiences the onset of symptoms, they should stay at home for a period of 5 days. Following this period, students may return to school if their symptoms have improved and they have been free of fever for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications.
Returning to school does not require COVID-19 testing. Additionally, masks are not mandated after the initial 5-day isolation period.
Accessing Health Care
The Vermont Department of Health strongly supports all children having medical and dental homes. We support the recommendation of the American Academy of Pediatrics for an annual physical exam and at least an annual dental exam. If you need help finding a doctor or dentist who accepts your health insurance (including Dr. Dynasaur), please contact your school nurse. We support the Vermont School Entry Immunization requirements.
There are annual health forms for families to fill out each school year. To view and complete forms, log into Alma and go to Alma Start Forms and Tasks under your student's name. Then click the green plus sign to add this year’s forms.
